♥ Cowgirl Chocolates *Review*

Cowgirl Chocolates : Head Cowgirl Marilyn Lysohir founded Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997. Her two favorite things in the world are art (she has a notable career as a ceramic sculptor) and chocolate. In fact her first job was working in a chocolate factory in Pennsylvania. Marilyn mingled some favorite memories with some new ideas to create an American original, Cowgirl Chocolates...chocolates with a spicy cowgirl kick. She was the pioneer, one of the first companies to offer spicy chocolates in the world.
Cowgirl Chocolates has won a total of 19 product awards and 2 packaging awards and is located in Moscow, Idaho USA. It has also been featured on the Food Network on “Unwrapped” and “Extreme Cuisine” and on CNBC “On the Money”. They have also been written up in the New York Times, InStyle, the Toronto Star among others.

I’d like to say that as far as designer chocolates go that Cowgirl Chocolates have not only met but exceeded any and all expectations I might have had about what a chocolate and spice confection might and should present, exquisite to say the least.

Below I have taken the liberty of breaking down each flavor and provided a comment as I sampled them.

The ribbon had a adorable cowboy charm threaded through it. It was one of the cutest little charms i have ever seen!

Inside the lid had the ingredients, contact information, the size of the product and what the product contained. Will make a great jewelry box!

Spicy Truffles :

Red * Raspberry Dark Chocolate

Raspberry Dark Chocolate is an oh-so-sweet mixture of chocolate and raspberry containing the perfect amount of delicious fruitiness to complement the already wonderfully satisfying dark chocolate. With just a subtle hint of spiciness, this fruity chocolate delight is guaranteed to bring a smile with every bite.

Gold * Double Dark Chocolate:

Double Dark Chocolate is an awe-inspiring experience for the palette even for the most serious chocolate lover. How can you go wrong with this revved-up (spicy) double dose of some of the best dark chocolate around? Perfecto!

Dark Blue * Hazelnut Milk Chocolate:

(Clear)  * Habanero Caramel

Habanero Caramel is a spicy mixture of soft caramel and the unforgettable taste of habanero pepper. While this was not to my personal liking, it was however a new and unique experience that did indeed stimulate my taste buds. While the level of spiciness was not what I would consider to be overwhelming, nor am I opposed to the idea of a spicy caramel this however was not a good fit for me personally, as the after-taste was too much like a green pepper for my liking.

(Clear) * Chipotle Caramel

Chipotle Caramel is a perfect blend of delightfully sweet soft caramel with the smokiness and spice that we all love in chipotle. Chipotle Caramel is perfect blend of smoke, sugar and spice, a truly wonderful experience. The folks at Cowgirl Chocolates got it right with this sweet and spicy delight.  I must say, the after-taste is outstanding.

Ivory Orange is a sweetly orange flavored chocolate with a creamy ivory topping that make's you think you are on a exotic beach. The creamy rich taste of chocolate and the sweetness of orange is for sure to tingle your taste buds.
